Madison Peters, L.C.S.W.

Madison graduated from Georgia College & State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Outdoor Education. After graduation, Madison discovered her passion working with adolescents, young adults and parents while working as a field guide for Blue Ridge Therapeutic Wilderness. After 2 years in the woods, Madison returned to school at the University of Georgia and earned a Master of Social Work with a certification in Marriage & Family Therapy.

Post graduate school Madison has worked as an individual and family therapist in residential and outpatient settings at Hillside Hospital, Skyland Trail and The Berman Center. She has extensive training in both the Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and the Marschak Interaction Theraplay Method. Although Madison works with all ages, much of her clinical focus has been parent coaching and working with youth struggling with impulsivity, self-harm, suicidality, and emotional regulation.

In addition to her work with parents and kids, Madison also works with adults struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD and personality disorders. Madison believes all of her clients are doing the best they can and creates unique treatment plans tailored to each clients’ specific goals. Madison integrates DBT skills in her sessions to help her clients find practical solutions to feel better, boost self-esteem, and strengthen interpersonal relationships.

When she isn’t in the office, Madison enjoys being with family and friends, rock climbing, and petting her dog, Sprout.
