At AAFPC, our clinicians are exceptionally well established and seasoned, dedicated to the sensitive personal care of our patients and clients. We are committed to take the time to comprehensively understand each clinical situation. As such, our psychiatrists and therapists may be considered "old school" in that we all provide thoughtful and practical counseling and psychotherapy for our client/patients and or their families along with contemporary medication (psychopharmacological) care as needed.
Evaluation/Assessment: Diagnostic assessments, psychiatric evaluation, psychological testing for children, adolescents, adults and families. Forensic (legal) evaluations limited to children and adolescents. School consultations.
Psychotherapy Services: All Atlanta Area Family Psychiatry Clinic clinicians, (psychiatrists, psychologist and clinical social workers) are fully trained and experienced psychotherapists. Our psychiatrists are medical doctors with 4 or 5 years (child and adolescent psychiatrists) of post M.D. degree training. Our psychologist has a Ph.D. degree and multiple years of additional training. Our Social Workers are LCSW's with a master's degree. We all continue to improve our knowledge and clinical expertise by continuing education throughout the year to meet and frequently exceed our licensure and speciality society requirements. Our clinicians provide a full range of child, adolescent and adult psychotherapy services and techniques including, individual psychotherapy, marital/couples therapy, family therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) techniques are also utilized when appropriate.
Psychopharmacological/Adjunctive Services: Psychopharmacology (medication) evaluation and management. Second opinion medication consultation. Case consultation with your primary physician or other health care provider.
